Dynamic finger splint

​Dynamic finger splint is used for finger extension after injuries or surgeries, to slowly and progressively straighten bent fingers and regain normal usage.
The project was to redesign an existing version as a commercial product.

Project Brief

  • Redesign an existing splint to be a commercial product

  • must be DFM for small batch/ 3d printed production

  • must be technically correct and approved by surgeons

How do we make a surgeon's splint prototype into a designed product?

Research and technical development for the product was to be carried out under a well-known surgeon's guidance.
