Rainwear

Umbrellas haven't been redesigned almost since they were invented.... and rain coats have their own drawbacks. A midway solution does not exist.

Project Brief

  • Redesign rain protection specifically for urban commuters

  • here the need is not complete rain protection, but moderate protection in between modes of transport

  • the product should also be convenient enough to use during quick chai or smoke breaks outoors.

This was my graduation thesis project in 2020.. it ended in the pandemic

I was drawn to the novel challenge of redesigning one specific product to fit the urban commuter's lifestyle. Where speculative design can be used as a conversation starter rather than just a means to an end.
